Privacy-first for the MVP prototype
APEX is a career GPS prototype. This policy explains what the MVP stores, how that information is used, and what changes before any future cloud-connected version.

What APEX collects in the MVP
The MVP uses profile fields you enter and a small amount of local prototype state.
- Basic profile details such as name, email, location, target location, work preference, current role, career stage, and years of experience.
- Career background such as industries, education, certifications, licenses, work summary, skills, tools, languages, leadership experience, and portfolio links.
- Career goals and preferences such as desired title, income goal, timeline, available hours, work values, interests, mission areas, learning style, and constraints.
- Local prototype activity such as saved opportunities, saved paths, completed weekly tasks, profile edits, and display preference.
Where MVP data is stored
The current prototype does not use authentication, a production database, or cloud profile storage.
In the current MVP, profile data and prototype activity are stored locally in your browser using local storage. Profile JSON export and import stay on your device. The browser coach remains scripted. Explicit use of a configured server coaching adapter sends the submitted context to OpenAI or Anthropic; explicit use of the email adapter sends the submitted digest and recipient to Resend. Without provider keys, these adapters return sandbox previews. There is no cloud profile database, salary API, job API, payment provider, or resume parser.
How profile data is used
Recommendations are planning aids based on the profile fields and mock data in the prototype.
- Generate possible career paths and opportunity branches from the profile information you provide.
- Estimate skill overlap, missing skills, path confidence, risk, reward potential, and weekly next best moves.
- Show mock salary estimates and Market Value Radar views based on role, location, experience, skills, and work preference.
- Personalize weekly plans, opportunity recommendations, AI coach prompts, and profile strength signals.
Data deletion and reset
You can reset or delete the local MVP profile from Profile Settings. You can also clear APEX site data from your browser to remove locally stored profile edits, saved paths, saved opportunities, completed task state, and theme preference.
Future versions
Future versions may connect to APIs, account systems, cloud storage, resume parsing, salary data providers, or opportunity sources. APEX should only use those features with clear notice, user choice, and consent before upload or cloud storage.
